Strawberry Fields

(Daily cabbageworm count: 1-squished, 1-dead already)

Today my amazing nearly-full-term-pregnant friend and I went to Westham Island to pick strawberries. I returned victorious, as did my trooper girlfriend. (I also returned with an awesome iPod strap tan on my right arm.)

Later tonight Nicole will join me for processing-fest which is a welcome change from slaving away all alone.

On the way home we stopped at Westham Island Apiary and were greeted at the house by one of the owners. I tasted a few types of honey but settled on this jar of wildflower honey for a meagre $12.

Jars of honey like this sell for $20 in North Vancouver. I am so pleased with this purchase I may not share with my husband who “can’t tell the difference between that fancy stuff and the honey from Safeway”. (I feel a little sorry for him.)
